Copa: Where are you from?
Yana: I was born and grew up in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv and now I'm based in the DC metro area. Copa: What schools have you attended?
Yana: I have graduated with a Master's from the National University of Culture and Arts. Copa: At what time did the 'fashion bug' bite you?
Yana: Having grown up in a big dynamic city, where Fashion is a part of a daily routine, my passion started when I was a teenager. I dressed up very extraordinary and was picking clothes in the men's department and often combined it with the different styles and textures from other design types. My mother also used to work with Fashion designers, which exposed me to beautiful and stylish culture early on. You can say my passion for fashion is in my DNA. My style is a mix of everything. I find as an evolution of my inner personality! There is no denying that I'm in love with timeless classic style but at the same time I find hints of spontaneous inspiration and a lot of loud colors to bring looks to life. I also find hats as a way to completely give a look a new attitude. Copa: At what time did you decide to begin modeling?
Yana: To be honest I didn't! Once, I received a friendly proposal to be a model for one photo project which I really enjoyed, and after that, the momentum never ended. After that, some of these photographs were sold at a London auction for more than £53 000. |

Copa: Who are your top 3 models of all time and why?
Yana: Oh, that's a really tough question. Many models inspire me, but, the most impactful I feel has been the Queen of the Catwalk Naomi Campbell. It is hard not to admire her strong personality and a career that spanned over 30 years which is beyond impressive. Irina Shayk is also an absolute industry icon I've admired. She is the apex of the commercial model industry in high fashion. Irina's career reached across different fashion fields including working with Kayne West. Also, I love her personality. German model Nadja Auermann is the model with the longest legs! She is absolutely stunning and provides an example of what hard work and perseverance can do in this industry. Nadja's career led her to walk for all the top designers and she has been featured on over 100 magazine covers worldwide. If I am able to accomplish a fraction of what these pioneering women have done I feel I can be proud of my accomplishments.

Who are your favorite 3 designers?
Yana: It's definitely much much more than just 3 designers. The history and stories behind how fashion has evolved are so fascinating. I would definitely separate the designer as a person and the designer as a brand. So my top 3 designers who resonate with me the most would be: Gabrielle Bonheur is known as Coco Chanel absolutely incredible combination of talent, charisma and I wish that I could have met her in person. Stella Nina McCartney has always been an advocate for animal welfare and the environment which resonates with me. I like everything about her philosophy and her designs. Last but not least would have to be Victoria Beckham. We all remember her as a part of one of the coolest girl groups the Spice Girls. Now, Beckham is an amazing designer known around the world. One thing that she said has stayed with me through this adventure is "I have always been about embracing who you are, supporting others, not being judgmental, treating others how you want to be treated". " And I agree with her. Sometimes it's just the fundamental basics. Women supporting women is key in this industry |

Copa: What is your personal philosophy as it pertains to fashion and style in general?
Yana: As a professional model myself, I'm presenting different styles and designs on runway shows and photoshoots, but on a daily basis, you should always remember what is your personal style! Remember that fashion is who you are, it's your personality. Sometimes, I take time to understand the designer's vision and I mold that into my personal way of presenting it in an inspiring way. But never lose yourself in pursuit of Fashion!

Copa: What's the best feeling you receive when gracing the runway in a FABULOUS gown from an accomplished Designer such as Tatiana Cole?
Yana: Usually, I'm very focused on the runway. As a model, you need to stay professional, and always remember that on the runway it's important to show and present the designer's gown in the best way. I definitely feel proud walking for Tatiana Cole. She is an amazing person and a talented designer. When I wear her gown I feel like a queen. She designs pure, wearable art and I am very happy to help bring her vision to the world.

Copa: What does the future hold for Yana in her fabulous world of Fashion & Style?
Yana: Currently, I plan to grow my personal brand as a model. Washington, DC as well NYC bloomed with great designers that are being noticed around the world. I'm glad to be part of the movement here and I look forward to expanding my horizons in all the major fashion hubs around the world.
