Copa: Have you always communicated well with others?
Susan: I was so shy as a child, elementary teachers thought I did not know how to speak till I was Gradually, I grew into speaking up and speaking out. Today I find communication beneficial. I try to be kind, considerate of others. I think that is what is missing in this fast paced multitasking world. I like words with manners such as “May I?”, “Please?”, “Pardon me”or “Excuse me”, “Would it be ok if” when asking something from another. I try to find something special about each person I come into contact with. If we can share an experience or commonality we can build relationships that bind. |
Copa: In your personal opinion, why are friends important to you in your life?
Susan: I have siblings but I often felt like an only child as we were so far apart and different upbringing. Friends become siblings that one can choose. Once you're close to me, whether it be a relationship or friend, I will be there for you through thick and thin. You cannot choose your family, but you can choose your friends.

Copa: What is your personal philosophy in life, love, and happiness?
Susan: Passion, friendship, and like minded goal experiences grow the heart. Being 'financially fit' is important but with great love when there is undeniable passion between two. "Love conquers all!"

Copa: How would you describe your personal style?
Susan:
I've been given nicknames like “trouble", “fancy pants," and “legs." Ultimately I dress for the occasion, I have Couture gowns and dresses, sentimental vintage pieces, and jewels from my mother and grandmother. I love to support local designers, consignment shops here at home, and collect fabulous clothes from world travels. |
Copa: Why is traveling so important to you and what are your three favorite destinations and why?
Susan: I started traveling overseas when I was 7 years old. I always loved flying from New York City to Paris, and have had the “bug” ever since. Traveling to new and different places is like breathing for my soul. It lends a fresh perspective on tomorrow.
One of my favorite countries is Turkey. Turkey is the only country in the world that covers two continents. Its historical culture dates back to Mother Mary and the apostles who lived there, following Christ’s crucifixion - to the Persian, Mongolian, Hittite, Ottoman Empires, and Constantinople. Under the Ottoman Turk empire, all religions and people could peacefully exist. The Turkish people have huge hearts; the Mediterranean diet made me the healthiest in my life - I thrive on it.
My travels to Thailand stole my heart, as well. The people and their culture leave me wanting to stay longer, to see and experience more .
My 3rd place is somewhere exotic that I have yet to experience. Adventure, where I have not traveled, excites me.
I adapted my traveling style after my father who always spent a week in each city when on a three week vacation. I like to spend one or two days reading a book on a balcony, mix with the culture - the best is when foreigners invite you for dinner. One can really experience true culture while breaking bread on a splendid evening with your hosts.

Copa: What is the best thing you like about living in Washington DC Metro area?
Susan: The “Nations Capital” can be called the “Art capital of the world.” We have a great deal of history, culture, museums, and restaurants that compete on a world class grand scale. We have beautiful parks, the national zoo, breathtaking cherry blossoms when in season and flowering. The city has monuments to reflect our history - with the African American and Bible museums most recently added. On a nice evening I could be biking down the C&O canal and suddenly find myself at a French bistro with a view, and later admiring the sun setting over the many DC rooftops. We also have great polo and horse events, battlefield reenactments, the Blue Ridge mountains and Great Falls; there are so many choices in and near the Nations Capital. I also enjoy conversations with friends in their homes or events discussing the latest interesting news, financials, and upcoming social register. To round out my life, I love doing modeling shoots with the many different backdrops. |
Copa: Have you been thinking about what you will enjoy this Summer once the city finally opens up?
Susan: Visiting places I have not been or ones I already love wonderful museums, rooftops, dancing, dinner with friends. I also love the theater, and swimming in pools. Event planning for others is a delight as well as acting, traveling, outdoor activities, kayaking, boating, karaoke, movies and traveling. The Atlantic Ocean is also just a 2 ½ hour drive…All best if I could do it romantically.

Susan: Great question.
