AYA by Vivian PART II
Copa: My first observation from attending one of your fashion shows I felt if I was transported through space and time to Shangri-La. What was your experience like producing you first fashion show?
Vivien: Well, my first major fashion show was actually here in Maryland. It was 4 years ago when I branded this line, prior to that I was placing much of my focus on the actual branding of my creations. It was all about projecting the full image of my brand to give it a life of its own. It had to resonate on a global scale, so I branded it in 2013 with a big fashion show. I just wanted to invite a few friends to view what I had placed in my line at the time; they had suggested that should produce a larger launch party fashion event. So I used my only resources to the best of my ability. The models I used were close friends from church and things worked out quite well. It was such a great experience!
Copa: What are the main feelings you are attempting to express with your latest line?
Vivien: What I really want to express how I see the beauty in every person. Anya means vision and how you see things, it was intentional that I chose that name for my brand. It doesn’t matter what size, shape, color or where you come from. When my clients come to me for consultation, it’s all about what I see in them. God has placed beauty in everyone. I just make sure that truly bring it all out. When I create a collection it’s for every woman. I want them to feel as if they are walking in every fashion show.
Copa: We believe that you have achieved this goal. What’s your next move?
Vivien: This platform has surpassed my expectations. I am so blessed that my craft has leaded me to so many wonderful people that pull inspiration from what I do. I feel extremely inspired. I would like to use this platform to encourage and inspire women to feel more positive about themselves in every way possible, especially women of the younger generation.
