Copa: Where are you from?
Patrick: I’m originally from Freetown, Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa, on the Atlantic Ocean. It’s known for the white-sand beaches lining the Freetown Peninsula. The capital city, Freetown, commemorates the nation’s slave-trade history with the Cotton Tree landmark and King’s Yard Gate.
Copa: What schools have you attended?
Patrick:
I went to North Western High School in Prince Georges County Maryland and after high school I further my education and transferred to Prince Georges Community College where I did my prerequisites. I am currently in Trinity University studying to become a Physician Assistance (PA).

Copa: What influenced you to become a model?
Patrick: I have being approached my a lot of people asking me if I'm a model; that I should be a model because I have the look and a perfect body to be model. But I never took it seriously until 2014 when I met Kelly a friend from Philadelphia. Kelly is a professional published fashion and nude model. She told me I have all what it takes to become a model and she was ready to help me. So we started the process. She worked me through opening a Model Mayhem account. For does that don't know about Model Mayhem, Model Mayhem is the number one portfolio website for professional models and photographers. You have to be approved before having an account with them. So we signed up for an account and I got approved within 24 hours. Next, Kelly and I set up a Photoshoot which was my first shoot with a professional model. I drove from Maryland to Philly to shoot with her. After the shoot I asked Kelly and the photographer "how did I do?" And they said I did great, the photographer never believed it was my first shoot as a model because of the way I performed in the shoot. Their positive feedback inspired me to go hard and make myself a great model. Kelly promised to help me with whatever help I needed as a model. So I came back to Maryland and I've being working hard ever since. And I won't stop till I become a supermodel and take over the industry. Which I strongly believe can be achieve with hard work and dedication.

Copa: Would you consider yourself to be a ‘fashionable’ person?
Patrick: Yes! Absolutely. I consider myself as a highly fashionable man with a great sense of style. Fashion is very important to me, it is a lifestyle, its a way to tell people who you are without having to speak. So I’m very conscious of what I wear. But I believe in my personal style more than fashion because fashion changes style is forever.

Copa: How do you define your personal style?
Patrick: Clean and Classy.

Copa: Do you get a special feeling while on the runway and or in the photography studio during sessions?
Patrick: Yes, I’m always in the zone when I’m on the runway, I believe that’s my time to leave my mark on the runway and show the world my talent as a model. And when I’m in the studio during my photoshoots and campaign sessions, I always make sure I control the outcome of the pictures, which is what every talented model should always do. I always know and prepare myself very well before my runway shows and photo
shoots by practicing a lot and knowing what is accepted of me in every photoshoot or campaign, since every one of them is different base on the concepts.

Copa: How would you describe the fashion scene in New York as opposed to Washington, DC?
Patrick: Completely different, it’s a huge different between fashion in New York and fashion in DC. Everyone knows New York is the Fashion Capital" of the world and cannot be compared to and any other city. Unfortunately, nobody, I repeat, “nobody” really knows DC for fashion outside of DC. I work mostly in New York now since my agency is based there and most of the jobs I booked are in New York. I remember recently in February during New York Fashion Week when I told some of my model friends about DC Fashion Week, they asked me what is that?”, they never knew DC had a fashion week. All people that are not from DC know about DC is a political city that houses the White House.

Copa: Who are two of your favorite designers and models?
Patrick: My two favorite models are Tyson Beckford and David Agboji. These two guys are absolutely phenomenal and are great inspiration to me in the modeling industry. And my two favorite designers are Stanlion Clothing and Africstyle Fashion. Everyone needs to support these two brands as they are definitely on their way to break into the fashion industry. For people that don’t know about Stanlion Clothing, Stanlion is a brand founded in 2010 with the sole purpose of bringing versatile luxury unique fashion shoes and clothing to Men and Women around the Globe. It is simply “The Home of Affordable luxury” And Africstyle Fashion is with no doubt the future of African Prints, from the quality of their work to the creativity is just amazing. I know because I have worked with these two amazing brands.
