Copa: Have you always been a fashion conscious person?
Ashley: Not at all. My fashion sense didn't kick in until I hit college. I was a Tomboy before then.

Copa: How would you describe your personal style? It appears to be quite interesting.
Ashley: I have no idea how to describe my style. LOL! It's definitely feminine. I love heels, skirts and dresses. But nothing too over the top, I'd say that I'm conservative sexy.

Copa: I remember meeting you around the time you started your first fashion blog. Would you please share with our readers what you have been up to since then?
Ashley: My fashion blog is now a lifestyle blog called Life by Ashley Joy. I've been pretty busy partnering with brands, covering events and highlighting the DC area's hottest location. It's a great way to spend my time! I also source and sell human hair for people to use as hair extensions. I never thought I would be doing this. But the opportunity just fell into my lap. So I took it!

Copa: What are your views on the ever changing face of fashion here in the DMV?
Ashley: I love it! DC used to be so bland, all business suits. It was horrible! But now there is so much style and color and flamboyance. I absolutely love it. It inspires me to try new things. And each day, I fall more in love with the DC fashion scene.

Copa: Hair, you have a wonderful section in your blog about the subject. How did this come about?
Ashley: After a horrible experience with an online hair company, I decided to write about my experiences with hair and the people that sell it. Luckily, many people really liked what I had to say. And from that, I became a hair review girl.

Copa: Before I forget, welcome to Copa Style Magazine as our new 'Consumer Reports Editor.' Can you reveal a few things about what our readers will expect from your interesting new column?
Ashley: As my blog has grown, I've been fortunate enough to review many great items for many great brands including hair, makeup, computer and even cars! It's a great feeling to know that people care about your opinion. You can expect much more of my honest opinion on products and services that are of interest to the Copa Style reader.

Copa: What does the future hold for Ashley Jefferson?
Ashley: Well, my present looks pretty good! But if I had to add something...I'd love for my blog to be TV show. That would be a really big accomplishment for me!
