Copa: When did you decide to become an Author?
Connie: Becoming an Author was a dream deferred for 15 years! I started a journal in 2002 after I returned from Mexico and
let it drop until 2017. In 2017, I wrote my first book “Peaks, Valleys and Overcoming the Odds: Stepping Out on Faith and Confidence” because of a tragic event that happened with a childhood friend. That event and God inspired me to write this book!

Copa: Please tell our readers about your 2 books.
Connie: “Peaks, Valleys and Overcoming the Odds: Stepping Out on Faith and Confidence” is an autobiography that tells a story about my life, how I overcame obstacles, fled with my 2 small children from an abusive marriage, focused, planned and had faith, and went on to become successful. It shows you that you don’t have to remain a victim and you can overcome your obstacles and become victorious! My second book was written in January 2019 and it’s a journal/workbook that helps anyone who’s transitioning in their career or stuck in their field and want to be successful. It includes 20 business tips and affirmations I’ve learned from over 12 years of being a successful business owner, how to plan, strategize, focus and succeed in any field. The name of my second book is “How Did I Change My Life Today? 8 Steps to Success”.

Copa: Did it take long for you to write those 2 books?
Connie: No the first book took me 19 days to write. I started Sept 3, 2017 and finished the last chapter 13 on Sept 22. I finished writing the second book in one day! This was because I already had notes over the past 6 months of advice and tips I shared on various Facebook groups so I had the idea of copying
and pasting them to create my new book. The first book has received nothing but 5 star reviews so far and the second book is sold out and I’ll have to buy more copies to sell.

Copa: What is your philosophy of business and how it should be conducted?
Connie: My vision is:
1. To provide exceptional customer service, high quality and a successful experience for my clients
2. To go the extra mile and be responsive to their needs and to make them happy.
3. To me there’s nothing more rewarding and important as a business owner than seeing your clients satisfied and happy knowing that you met their needs and resolved their pain points.
4. I listen to my clients and ask them at the start of our consultation what do you want to see on the day of your event or wedding. That’s my vision and mission to make sure that our team makes it happen! My vision carries through to every client I have, every speech I present and every class and course that I teach.

Copa: When did you decide to establish your weddings and events business?
Connie: I’ve always wanted to own my own business since a child. My mother was a business owner and had a hair salon. I admired her strength and business acumen. After I retired early from the Federal government I decided this was a great time to hone my skills and go for it! At Your Service Events Planner LLC was founded in 2007. It’s my passion and I love what I do—meeting new people and providing excellent services for my clients.

Copa: What does the future hold for Connie Amos-Parsons?
Connie: That's a very good question! I wear multiple hats! I recently had a transformational coach and decided this year to move forward and walk in my purpose, and use my God given gifts of being an Author, Speaker, Educator and now an Ordained Minister and Wedding Officiant. My expertise in wedding and events planning and travel agent are still a passion for me. I look forward to doing more speaking to empower women, to discuss my books and teach topics in small business development and leadership. I was inspired by being an Author to speak about being an over comer of spousal abuse and I am the creator, organizer and sponsor of “Phenomenal Women Walking in Our Purpose Conference” in March, which happens to be Women’s Month.
