Copa: Where are you from?
Lizeth: My family is El Salvadorean, and I am the first born American in my family in Los Angeles, California. We relocated to Washington, DC when I was 4 years old. Copa: Where did you attend school and what degrees have you earned?
Lizeth: I attended George Mason University in Northern Virginia. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Communication - concentration in Public Relations. Copa: Please share with us some of the specialized services of your business.
Lizeth: I offer specialty beauty services such as PRO Eyelash Extensions, Permanent Makeup, Waxing, and Spray Tanning. On the Paramedical Micropigmentation side, Areola Nipple Tattooing, Scar Camouflage, and Scalp Micropigmentation for hair loss. I am also excited for the education side. The Greater Washington Academy of Permanent Makeup will be open Winter 2022. Copa: At what time did you establish Epic Beauty Rx?
Lizeth: I started my business in makeup and lash extensions 14 years ago, named, LuvMyLashes. Yes, I've been doing lashes for that long, lol. Throughout that time, I also held a wonderful dream job in corporate America as Vice President of Business Development for a well-known banking institution, and always had my beauty business on the side. Once I discovered the world of permanent makeup artistry and the opportunity to change lives for breast cancer survivors through my artistic nature, I knew this was God's calling for me. So, 4 years ago, I left the corporate world to focus 100% on my company, which then evolved with the new name of Epic Beauty Rx.

Copa: What inspired you to offer Paramedical procedures to your business?
Lizeth: I'm always moved when people feel happy and beautiful about themselves. Helping to restore beauty for the breast cancer survivors was what really inspired me to leave a very good and stable career in the corporate world. I found that there was a real need to help breast cancer survivors restore a very intimate part of themselves that has been lost in their battle with cancer. My love for beauty artistry, passion around cancer causes and women overall health was the inspiration in providing these specialty beauty services.

Copa: What was the inspiration of starting your own Permanent Makeup Academy?
Lizeth: I love to learn and love improvement. I found that there was a need for providing better education around the foundations of permanent makeup artistry, and truly preparing students for passing their state board examinations to get licensed. In addition, I love beauty artistry and entrepreneurism. I want others to believe that they, too, can be the best and create a business in beauty, if they choose to. There is a stigma that you can't make real money or have a lifelong career in this kind of work. I'm here to help change that mindset and show others that with the right education, mindset, attitude, and practice, they too can go for it! I'm so excited for the Greater Washington Academy of Permanent Makeup, as it will expand opportunity for many.

Copa: Do you sell cosmetics from your location, or can they be ordered?
Lizeth: Yes, I have my own eyelash extension after care product line called Epic Eyelashes. I also sell Inglot Cosmetics and Image Skin Care.

Copa: What does the future hold for you and the world of Epic Beauty Rx?
Lizeth: I am looking forward to teaching others through my beauty academy, The Greater Washington Academy of Permanent Makeup opening this Winter 2022. My goal is to teach students the fundamentals of permanent makeup artistry, prepare them for the state board exam for licensing, and information on starting their business. I am also very passionate about cancer causes and awareness and will continue to be active within my company and heavily involved in supporting philanthropic efforts.

With a strong need for help and awareness needed in the world, it is a blessing to see some local non profit organizations going above and beyond to make change. It has been a gift to personally get to know the Founders, as they all have the biggest hearts of gold. For instance, Ozzy Ramos, Founder of American Veterans Ball, creating many pathways for military and veterans. Patricia Watts, Founder of WEModel USA works diligently to create awareness around the 2nd largest crime in the world, human sex trafficking.
Gayela Bynum, Founder of We Will Survive Cancer, raises money to assist the families of cancer patients, who are in need.
As a Board Member of We Will Survive Cancer, I am impressed at how much the organization does to help the families affected by cancer. I feel so honored to be given the opportunity to assist them in this mission.
