Copa: When did you ladies get the idea to create this wonderful fashion show?
Niecy Fuqua & Rita Morris: We both met in Destin, FL 2021 at a fashion competition and they immediately became friends. The idea about having their own show came up a few times after that event, and because of their experience at the competition, they decided that they wanted to present a drama free production that encourages empowerment and self-confidence

Copa: Where are you from?
Rita Morris: Athens, Tennessee Niecy: Glade Spring, VA. Copa: What are your fashion backgrounds?
Dr. Niecy: As a teenager, I dreamed of being a clothing designer and I actually had the opportunity of having my sketches published in Black Digest. I also, as a teenager briefly modeled for John Casablanca. Recently I had the opportunity to model a few times in the "Beautiful You Fashion Tour" and in the Indie Fashion Show in NYC. RITA MORRIS: My fashion background starts with promotional modeling and dreaming of being a model and working full time plus driving 3 hours on weekends to learn and practice my skill and get more exposure at John Casablanca in Nashville, Tennessee. It was exhausting but it all started paying off with Miss Fashion Global ‚Miss North America pageants. |
