The Mili Cape Hi/Low Coat

Hey girl, HEY!!! The first thing I usually say is, "who made the rules?" when it comes to fashion! When it comes to style, everyone has their own interpretation of how they want to be seen. Their way may not be your way but it's still a way! Now granted even though everyone has their own vision, make sure everytime you step out of the house you are about to step on the runway! Not you going to the corner club on Saturday night with your girlfriends dress that is 2 sizes to small! So put your best look forward and let's fall into fall.
This fall I have designed a collection called "The Phoenix Collection," which showcases leather coats and jackets which I launched in October 2020. With this collection, I will have 4 series and parts to all the series. I will introduce a new leather jacket for each series. The parts will showcase different clothing I have also designed and made myself to accompany the coats and jackets.

The Mili Cape Hi/Low Coat is series 2 from The Phoenix Collection. The beanie also showcased in part 1 of series 2 was also designed by me. All materials are made of sheepskin leather. I chose sheepskin because of the grain and the softness to the touch that is has. The beanie hat is also complimentary to my series 3, which I have not introduced yet! But you have to stay tuned to see that coat! Coming soon!

The inspiration behind the cape was from the early 1900's from the era of Sherlock Holmes. I have been inspired so much with this collection from styles from that era to about the 1970's. Once I introduce my entire collection you will see exactly what I mean. I added four buttons in front of the coat as well. I originally designed for 6, but I felt the extra buttons would look to heavy for the bottom portion of the coat so I removed them in the design. I also designed this coat to have a high front and a low back giving it the name hi/low.

This silhouette gives off a very sexy but modest look especially for the mature woman. I added pockets and a leather belt to match which would also assist with snatching the waist in. Pleats were also added to the waistline in construction so it would give the woman a more defined hour glass shape as well. When shopping for clothes, always shop for your size! Find clothes that will flatter your body. And always remember to buy the RIGHT SIZE no matter your size!
