Lupita: Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Copa: How long have you lived in the United States?
Lupita: I've been here for 17 years.

Copa: When did you first become interested in fashion and modeling?
Lupita: When I was a little girl, I attended dance school for eight years, where we would perform and appear on TV. I started modeling in high school, so I have had many years of experience in front of a camera and have always loved it. Copa: Do you remember your first photo shoot and fashion show?
Lupita: I had my first photo shoot when I was 14. I wore a sophisticated look, and the images were later published in the local newspapers. This led to more modeling opportunities for me while in my teens. In the US, a modeling agency from Bolivia called ISI Productions was the first to encourage me and give me my first fashion show opportunity back in 2014. Copa: What is your personal philosophy on fashion and style?
Lupita: I love the opportunity to encourage and empower my fellow women to feel beautiful. That no matter your age or ethnicity, or anything else, that every lady has her own unique beauty. |
Copa: Who are your 3 favorite models?

Copa: Did you ever think that you would become such a popular model in America?
Lupita: I never would have imagined it, but I feel honored to be nominated as the 2020 Model of the Year. I believe that if you do everything with passion and remain humble, you can achieve great things.

Copa: What's the most interesting thing you've experienced so far on your fashionable journey?
Lupita: Being able walk the runway for designer Michael Lombard’s leather collection at New York Fashion Week was a dream come true. I was able to meet many wonderful models and designers. It was such a fun experience.
