By Rodney Wayne Branche
Copa Style Magazine Publisher/CEO
Copa: Where are you from?
Ron: I'm a native Washingtonian raised in Southeast Washington, DC. Copa: What schools have you attended?
Ron: I attended catholic schools in Washington, DC. Our lady Queen of Peace Elementary, Mackin Catholic High School. Later I attended Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. Copa: When did the fashion bug bite you?
Ron: I always liked fashion growing up around fashionable women like my Mom, Grandmother and Sister Jeanette. (Who was a top model.) When I moved to New York is really when the 'fashion bug' really bit me when I was in school I started working at Abraham & Strauss Department Store. It was an amazing place to work! |
Copa: In your personal opinion, what would you consider to be 'good fashion?'
Ron: GOOD? Fashion is neither good or bad. What works for some people may not work for others ... it’s really all about ones point of view... I think all fashion is good for someone... but not for all people, it’s really all about ones individual style.

Copa: What is your philosophy on style?
Ron: Sense and sensibility...I try to know my clients and understand my audience...I walk the line of fashion fundamentalism and 'fashiontainment,' if people like my style with music, model choices, and designers, this way I know I've done my job. To be a producer you have to place others before your own ego.
If their egos are bigger than what thier clients want to see then they are doomed to a certain level of excellence...but I respect all of my fellow fashion family who are out there presenting their idea of fashion. I've learned from them all on what to do and what not to do.

Copa: What does the future hold for Ron Cooke and his amazing world of fashion?
Ron: Well, I'm always looking to raise the bar on my productions. Of course sponsors and sponsorship dollars play an important role in the growth of future productions. I will continue to provide visually stunning and thought provoking fashion events regardless of limits. Style lives and continues to grow and I plan to grow along with it!
