Copa: Where are you from?
Athena: I was born and raised in the Philippines, currently residing in Ashburn Virginia. Copa: What schools have you attended?
Athena: Philippine Women’s College of Technology (PWC) and Lorenzo Walker Technical College Copa: At what time did you become interested in Art?
Athena: I've had an interest in art since childhood. By the age of six, I was drawing a large horse on our classroom blackboard, working through recess completely oblivious to my surroundings. Immersed in my work, I stood on a stool, unaware that recess had ended and that many classmates and older students were watching me. When I finally finished, I was greeted with cheers and applause. Surprised, embarrassed, and ultimately pleased by the attention, I realized this was a passion I would nurture as I grew older. |
Copa: Did painting come to you naturally or did you attend courses?
Athena: Yes, painting comes naturally to me. I've never attended art school or taken any art classes, but I've studied and appreciated the works of many artists over the years and drawn inspiration from them.
