Interview Questions for Copa Style Magazine:
1. Where are you from?
I am originally from Florida I was born in Miami Beach, Florida moved when I was 3 to Silver Spring, Maryland.
2. Which schools have you attended?
I went to pre k at Judy’s Daycare, Fairland Elementary, Briggs Chaney Middle School, and James Hubert Blake Highschool for 2 years then Hammond High for another 2 years graduated 2012 from there then attended Howard Community College received my associate’s degree in general studies science emphasis then went to the University of Maryland to study plants but dropped out knowing I would succeed either way.
3. At what time did you become interested in modeling?
When I was a child my sister used to be into it and it just worked out for me.
I’ve been modeling since 2014 freelancing for money and working with west haven management for publicity and experience in the modeling world. As a result I have been in NYFW twice DCFW once and intend to go much further in my modeling career. I’ve always felt comfortable modeling in that it is an appropriate space to flaunt your beauty to the maximum with tact and confidence without the comments of others accusing you of loving yourself “too much”.
4. Who are your top 3 professional male models of all time and why?
Marlon McKenzie has always been an inspiration to me since before I was actually modeling. He’s represented by numerous agencies and you can see his successes in his success so he has a very well established foundation for himself in the modeling world while also being a father makes him noteworthy. He keeps his body in shape and consistently produces quality work.
Tyler Parker really sets the bar for models in today’s world he holds his own from what I can tell and knows how to handle the attention which I admire because I used to be overwhelmed by too much attention. He’s around my age and I believe he has other things happening for him so I emulate him and would love to be at his stature in modeling myself.
Reece King is my age and is well known for his shoots supporting the lgbt community. He’s always himself very eccentric and everyone seems to just love him . I really respect him because he encourages his followers to be well and to keep their mental health in check especially. The other side of the new age is shown by him where we’re more aware and at peace without showing off in a generic flashy manner. Instead showing others your best self and thereby encouraging them to do the same.
5. What is your opinion on men's fashion and it's development?
Men’s fashion to my mind has been quite reserved for some time, uptight and self conscious on a subconscious level that undermined our ability to live out loud. The need for female energy and creativity really busted through those seams in the early 2000’s and now we’re dressing to show off our bodies our personality and our interests as individuals. It’s surely come a long way and I see it becoming all the more common as time progresses for men to dress with more creativity and expression involved.
6. How would you describe your present style?
My everyday style is laid back but I incorporate crystals and jewelry to create a more majestic look. Being 6’5 and attractive I attract a lot of eyes so I don’t feel a need to dress for show. When I do though I’m usually wearing clothes that breathe but show off my body at the same time. Casual monotone colors that go together and I’ll wear a crystal necklace wrapped by me or a friend along with earrings and maybe a bracelet. I don’t wear watches I always wear a cross because God exists at every cross-section but ultimately I dress to be comfortable. My style is flexible and complimenting.
7. How would you describe your chemistry with photographers during photo-shoot so far?
I’m ready to pose free of the photographers input and open to suggestions. As of now I come as a masterpiece ready to be molded, I remain receptive to the setting of the shoot and merge with the scene in my element. We discuss ideas and execute the look/vision.
8. What does the future hold for William Callwood and his world of Modeling, Fashion, and Style?
I’m moving to NY to model more frequently and have better access to the city! So I will be showing out loud for everyone to see. There are more well known companies like Pyer Moss and Ralph LaurenI will be walking for. I’m excited to see what comes of learning the craft more intimately then ever before. I definitely look forward to traveling to Model at events and attend special opportunities for an aspiring model like myself. My fashion will evolve to be more personalized and mystical. In the fashion world I will excel to a new frontier!
