Copa: Which schools have you attended and degrees you've earned?
Angela: I received a two-year Business degree from Chesapeake Business Institute. Studied Criminal Justice at PG community College. Studied psychology at Sir Jurnor Douglas College in Annapolis. I am a graduate of Trinity College of Natural Medicine. Where I received my Naturopathic Doctor degree. I also received my masters in Herbology from Trinity College. Dr. Kalender is a member of the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board and is a board-certified doctor of natural medicine. Copa: Where are you from?
Angela: I was born in Guyana, South America, and I came to the U.S. at age fifteen. |
Copa: At what time did you gather your interest in health, fitness, and nutrition?
Angela: In or around 2016, I was diagnosed with thyroid disease, where the doctors wanted to remove my thyroid. I was terrified and decided to go natural. At the time there were a place in North Carolina called hallelujah ackers. I had heard great things about them and decided I would go. There I saw the power of nutrition and supplements, coupled with exercise. All of us need nutrition. So, my advice to you is just start, no matter how small. Just start!

Angela: Honestly, we should never be too busy for self-care. I am old school, so my advice is simple. Take the time to cook maybe three times a week. So you can have fresh food daily. I meal prep so me or a staff will gladly teach you. Or we will prepare the food for you.
Nutritious smoothies with fruits and vegetables are a great choice. I believe there are no easy way. Good things take time and energy, but it will pay off in the long run. Again even children should be on a nutritional supplement. We put children on health plans too.
