Copa: How long have you been a lover of great fashion & style?
Lezlie: I've always loved fashion and style. My mother was not fashionable and did not dress me the way I wanted to dress. I started my first job in order to buy the clothes and accessories I envisioned for myself and the image I wanted to project. Being petite, I always go with styles that are complimentary to my physique as opposed to what is trending.

Copa: Who are you favorite designers of all time?
Lezlie: When it comes to Fashion, I don't have any particular designer I am more passionate about than another, however what girl doesn't love Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Chanel, Valentino, Christian Louboutin, Stewart Weitzman, Yves Saint Laurent, Versache or Tiffany & Co? I love unique pieces, so I have better luck finding items in boutiques, from unknown or upcoming designers, as opposed to Department store items. When it comes to jeans though, I can buy those in a department store and wear them right off the rack! Discovering Articles of Society jeans changed everything for me. I purchased them in every color with back-ups, so I'm probaby set for life in the jean department! It's nice to receive compliments. You know you're doing something right when strangers go out of their way to approach and pay you a compliment. One of the most memorable compliments I received, was on a dress that my teen-aged daughter purchased for me. I paired it with accessories valued at over $50,000, but it was the $20 dress that received the compliment! It's all about what you put together and how you carry yourself! I like a put-together, chic look that screams classy, sophisticated and glamourous, much like my favorite icon, Grace Kelly.

Copa: How would you describe your personal style?
Lezlie: I would describe my style as "sexual elegance". I like a polished look that exudes class, sophistication, sex appeal, and professionalism. I tend to go for a timeless look, as opposed to the next big trend. Throw a little edginess in for an air of mystery and voila! You have Lezlie Day. Whether I am attending a Black-tie Event, going to the grocery store or attending a back-to-school night, I enjoy a polished look. Tailored clothes are a must! Being petite, I've had no choice but to have everything altered to fit. My small stature is also the reason I keep accessories to a minimum. I choose a few key pieces, that won't overpower each other or look gaudy to have a polished, prestigious look.

Copa: How did you enjoy Hyatt Regency venue for the 2022 World Top Model competition?
Lezlie: The Hyatt Regency provided ample space for all vendors, patrons and models in attendance. I was thrilled to pull up and have Valet parking available, as I was wearing sky high Fendi heals, but to be completely honest, a rate of $38 for the event left a bad taste in my mouth and was a bit hard to swallow! As I entered the venue, though, my senses returned, and I forgot all about the valet fee because the venue reeked of opulence! The welcome room was buzzing with beautiful and well-dressed people from the DMV region. The space offered an abundance of photo ops and conversation, which prepare you for the main event. Temptation is all around. From the jewelry and shoe displays to the TEP 360 photobooth, I almost missed the beginning of the WTM competition! Once I exhausted all options the welcome room had to offer, I headed into the conference room where the Main Event was being held. The catwalk was surrounded by elegant tables for guests to dine, converse and watch, as the contenders competed for title. Photographers and Videographers were not in short supply, nor was the entertainment. Beautiful ladies worked the Catwalk as DJ John Paul shook it up w/ a playlist that had spectators up and moving!

Copa: Did you enjoy the food and beverages?
Lezlie: The event made me feel empowered, so I opted for a tequila cocktail as opposed to the variety of wines available, which may have been the better choice based on finger foods being more complimentary with wine. Loved that they had Ferrero Rocher Fine Hazelnut chocolates adorning the buffet table. There were 2 bars, one on either side of the room and bartenders were efficient. People didn't have to wait in lines for cocktails.

Copa: Please tell us about the entertainment. How does it feel to have to walk out on a stage after someone else just wowed the audience?
Lezlie: It's never easy to follow a spectacular act, but essentially that's what these artists had to do and they rocked it! The first performance was a trio of women who picked up from where DJ Paul left off. The name of the group was "Femme Fatale." They did a great job of performing fabulous dance tunes.

Copa: What is your opinion about the competition and the models?
Lezlie: As a former competitive athlete, this competition lacked that competitive feel that most competitions have. The models were not just beautiful on the outside, but beautiful through and through. They were genuine in character and demonstrated the ability to support and show concern for others, which is a rare find in such a competitive environment.
