Copa: Where are you from?
Setoria: I was originally born in Melbourne, FL. My mother served in the Army and was last stationed at Walter Reed AMC in Washington DC. After she got out of the military, this is where we stayed. Although I was raised in the DC area most of my life, I still consider myself a southern bell.

Copa: Which schools have you attended?
Setoria: I graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland.

Copa: At what time did you discover you had a talent for singing?
Setoria: I've always known that I could sing since childhood. My sister and I used to sing in the mirror when we were young. We would pretend that we were in the music videos. I would be the lead singer and she was my background.

Copa: Where did you receive your inspiration?
Setoria: My inspiration comes from my experiences and the people around me. Plus, music is an outlet. I can let you know how I REALLY feel!

Copa: Who are your favorite two vocalists?
Setoria: That's a TOUGH one! There are many legends who I look up to, it's very difficult to just name two. I would probably say Chaka Khan and Whitney Houston.

Copa: When did you get into modeling and what do you like about it the most?
Setoria: I began modeling about 3 years ago. I joined the Smooches Woman Movement. Based out of Philadelphia, the movement provides training, resources, and networking opportunities to curvy models. I've had the opportunity to do print and runway modeling. I even modeled as a window mannequin in a few Ashley Stewart stores (that was a lot of fun) . I learnt about the movement through a music project led by multi-platinum Producer, Herb Middleton. I was blessed to work with him and become a part of the Smooches Music Project where I wrote the first Smooches Model runway anthem "Take A Picture". I also co-wrote Smooches' new inspirational curvy anthem "Look At Us", also produced by Herb Middleton. I am now the Brand Ambassador for the Smooches Music Project.
What I like most about modeling is being able to use a platform to inspire other curvy women to unapologetically live in their truth. To know that we are beautiful and that our curves are not a curse. I LOVE representing for my community! I also enjoy taking risks in modeling, like, showing a little extra skin, shooting in unique locations, etc.

Copa: What's the most interesting photo-shoot location you ever had to pose in?
Setoria: I think my most interesting shoot was when I modeled lingerie....in a graveyard......in 30 degree weather! Copa: We also see that you have several interesting items in your store please tell us about a few of them.
Setoria: Right now I have signature t-shirts and my latest product, an all-natural aromatherapy massage oil candle titled "Say My Name". The 3-N-1 organic candle is made from all natural butters (shea and cocoa butter), Vitamin E, all-natural essential oils and other healthy skin care agents. The candle burns as an aromatherapy candle to help relieve stress, alleviate anxiety, promote hormone stimulation and MORE! The candle is made of coconut wax, so it burns at a cooler temperature allowing it to become a fabulous warming body massage oil. The all-natural butters and vitamins provide the perfect moisturizing and anti-aging agents for the skin. The product not only smells wonderful, it's sexy AND its good for you |
Copa: What does the future hold for Setoria?
Setoria: EVERYTHING! I am working on my new EP which will be released under my own imprint - Keytone Entertainment. Yes, your girl is also a label executive. The EP will be titled "Say My Name". I have an award-winning single out now also called "Say My Name". The song was the recipient of the "Best R&B Song of the Year" award at the 2018 Josie Music Awards (the largest independent music award show globally). The music video has been awarded "Best Music Video" at the 2019 Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. I am currently nominated for "R&B Vocalist of the Year" at the 2019 Josie Music Awards held in Tennessee this September (fingers crossed).
The "Say My Name" candle brand will be expanding this year as well to include other beauty products to promote mental and skin wellness. I also have a few other things cooking in the pot that I can't speak of now, so if you want to know what's poppin.......follow me!!!
