Copa: What influenced you to becoming part of the fashion world?
Stara: . Fashion was something that I grew up with, my parents where fashionable people. I can remember buying fashion magazines as early as 12 years old to see the fashion. I was obsessed by the designs and creative structure of the clothes and accessories. By the time I was 15 I would redesign and alter my clothes. My mother said I always insisted on dressing myself even as a toddler so it was a passion that was always in me, something I always loved.

Copa: What is your opinion of the fashion scene in the Washington, DC metropolitan area?
Stara: I think that the fashion scene in Washington DC is really evolving. It is evident in something as simple as the street fashion. Over the last couple of years Boutiques have exploded throughout the DMV area making it easy to get creative and more affordable pieces.

Copa: What was your most interesting assignment or project?
Stara: The most interesting or may I say rewarding project that I have done was for "Make a Wish" Foundation for a girl who had cancer and was going through Chemo therapy. Her wish was to be a model. So I was asked to style her for her photo shoot. She was so happy. She touched my heart.

Copa: . What is your philosophy on style and makeup?
Stara: My philosophy on style and make-up is wear what you are comfortable in because confidence is the key to being attractive. You can have the best outfit on and your make-up could be done by the most famous MAU on this planet but if you are uncomfortable it shows and is not flattering.

Copa: What do you see in the fashionable future of Stara Pezeshkian?
Stara: As I balance my life with my family (four children) and my career I am always contemplating new ideas. Some fit with in my life as a mother and some I love but do not fit me at this time while I have little ones. But I do know whatever changes in my career that I make for the future it will still be the field that I love... fashion. ~Copa
