Copa: Where are you from?
Nisha: Born and raised in London - Finchley Central in 1981. Moved to the US in 94’. Copa: At what time did you gather an interest in fashion?
Nesha: Fashion runs in the Sheth blood. My mother Priti owns and runs a fashion boutique called Pritis Fashions located in Tacoma Park -Maryland. I used to go to India with her on her business trips where she used to design her cloths. After a while i caught the fashion bug and i started designing my own. These cloths were only for me - but soon enough people started asking where i got these outfits from and who made them, etc. At that point i decided to take the next step. |

Copa: Please describe some of your first designs.
Nisha: First Designs - One of the first designs was a pre-stitched sari. Instead of pleading the sari- it was already stitched together making it easier to put on. I gave it a contemporary look with jewels and beads. Copa: Was it very difficult to establish the Mumbai Boutique and how long did it take to get off of the ground?
Nisha: I launched MB on 6-2-18. The first year was phenomenal. The feedback I received from our international clients was heartwarming. Truth be told, as a design company we are also creating new trends so we’re always reinventing ourselves and relaunching year after year. Copa: How would you describe the wonderful clothing of the Mubai Boutique?
Nesha: One word - “Statement Copa: As a woman, did you have any difficult hurdles to overcome while setting up your business? If so please share a few situations.
Nisha: Yes. As a young single female entrepreneur, there were few who could not except it. The concept of young woman who can build and sustain a business was unheard of. The only way to Overcome this particular hurdle is to not “talk the talk” but “walk the walk”. I let my success speak for itself. Copa: In your opinion, what makes your establishment magical?
Nisha: In my humble opinion, I feel what makes MB magical is the experience of luxury when you enter our showroom. From the moment a client walks in, they not only feel positive vibes, but also leave with a decadent experience Copa: Will there be a few amazing surprises coming from the boutique for the 2020 holidays?
Nisha: Yes. We hold holiday events twice a year where we showcase new designs. Copa: What does the future hold for Nisho Sheth and the fabulous Mumbai Boutique?
Nisha: The future is yet to be told. But I’ll try my best to always think outside the box, strive for success and be a trendsetter. ~Nisha Sheth |
