Sisters 4 Sisters Network Inc.
~ 20th Anniversary ~

Copa: At what time did you acquire the idea to organize Sisters 4 Sisters
Network Inc.?
Peggy: I acquired the idea to organize Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc. (S4SN) doing my days of working in Corporate America. I was blessed at the time to have a group of women who supported each other in the work environment but I did not have one outside of the workplace. So, I thought what it would look like to bring my personal, business and work network together along with other like-minded women in my community to network in support of each other.
After attending the first annual Power Networking Conference held in Cleveland, OH in 2002 which was facilitated by Dr. George C. Fraser, it provided me with the tools and resources to bring women together to collaborate and partner with the intent to serve our community.

Copa: How did you assemble your founding officers, Sharon J. Bullock, Audrey
Dickson and Dee Adams?
Peggy: I was able to assemble our founding officers in 2002 as we traveled together to attend the very first Power Networking Conference in Cleveland, OH. All four of us had a desire to start a business and with the help of learning the art of Networking, it pushed us into the right direction to build a women’s organization. Collectively, we returned from this one-of-a-kind conference with the skillset of Networking, and it provided us with the tools and resources to build Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc. in Prince George’s County, MD. So, in 2002, our platform grew from 4 to close to over 400 dedicated and loyal women whom all share a common bond of promoting positive Sisterhood through Networking.
As the founder officers, Peggy Morris, President; Sharon J. Bullock, Vice President; Audrey N. Dickson, Treasurer; and Dee Adams, Secretary; we saw a need to create a platform that would allow women to grow, partner, collaborate and build lasting relationships on their road to entrepreneurship.

Copa: What is the mission/vision of Sisters 4 Sisters Network Inc.?
Peggy: The mission of Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc. has been to provide a platform for women to come together to share information, resources and contacts to help elevate each other. Our mission is to also empower our membership to achieve financial independence and to learn wealth building strategies. So, we created a platform for women to come together in a networking environment to share information, resources and contacts. Collectively, through collaborations and partnerships, our membership has shared their visions and dreams with each other to help reach their full potential. Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc. works to empower, equip, and encourage its members to form partnerships that produce successful outcomes. As an organization, we have touched the lives of women in ways that, until now, was unimaginable! Our goal has always been to ignite the power within women to make a difference in their lives, their families and the lives of others and our community. |

Copa: Please share with our readers a few details of the some of the core areas that your group has dealt with over the years:
Peggy: After years of providing a platform to allow women to come together to network, we noticed the conversation began to change and women were talking more about domestic violence in our community, how do we maintain a healthy lifestyle and how can we support our young people in the area of education and mentoring. So, we agreed to look at those areas which were plaquing our community, along with entrepreneurship for women who wanted to start their businesses. We took the (4) focus areas and provided a TV/podcast platform to bring in community subject matter experts to help us to share and empower our network and our community.

* Entrepreneurship
We encourage and empower women to build their finances for the betterment and to strengthen their families and the community through entrepreneurship. * Domestic Violence We have become advocates to address the issue of domestic violence which is plaquing our community. We have also partnered and collaborated with community leaders and agencies. * Health & Wellness We realize it is important to be healthy from the inside out. So, we share information about nutrition, physical fitness and other food programs available in the area to promote overall wellness and prevent hunger and disease. * Education & Mentoring We believe in empowering the entire family through education and mentoring. So, we bring in education leaders to continue the conversation to address mentoring of our young people. |
Copa: How many collaborative book projects have some of your members been part of?
Peggy: We have been involved in producing two anthology projects under Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc.: the Power of Sisterhood and Embracing My Sexy Sixties. However, our members have been involved in countless anthologies and are individual authors in their own rights. Look forward to seeing more about our sisters authors as we relaunch our Authors Sister CIRCLE in 2023. We are EXCITED! |
Copa: Did you enjoy the big celebration this Sunday for the groups 20th Anniversary at the Woodmore Manor Clubhouse?
Peggy: Yes, we had an amazing and rewarding experience in celebrating 20 years of building everlasting relationships and at the same time, changing lives in our community. We took this opportunity to recognize women within the network and outside the organization to let them know that we see them. We were able to recognize 26 individuals to show them our continuous love and support! We also took this opportunity to celebrate with our (4) mentors: Dr. George C. Fraser, Dr. Willie Jolley, Linda Clemons and Jewel Diamond Taylor. |
