Copa: When did you gather an interest in Real Estate and how did it come about?
Anne: I am not sure how I got my interest in real estate, I was working an accountant for an association completely has nothing related to real estate. I could do my job as an accountant very well but I was not comfortable speaking or engaging with people. I turned red each time I would speak to a group or to a stranger so the thought of being a salesperson or a Realtor never crossed my mind.
In 2001, I had a home in Woodbridge and I needed to put my house on the market for sale, I met with a Realtor to discuss the transaction and after we finish with our meeting, she asked me if I would be interested in learning and becoming a Realtor. I asked her what makes you think I can be a good Realtor, I am not comfortable talking to people and perhaps might not take a rejection easily. She told me that I can be good at it, I can use my background to help potential buyer and seller, and I should give it a try. I thought about it and in 2002, I decide to give it a try and signed up for real estate classes. I started out on a part-time basis and switched to be a full time Realtors in 2004.

Anne: The real estate market is very active in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. We used not to have a lot of foreign investors interested in our area now they are very much interested especially in the DC market.

Copa: With this boom going on Wall Street, will it affect home prices in a positive way?
Anne: Investing in real estate is completely different than investing in stock. It is a long term investment and it will give you a great return on your investment. If you can recall when the stock market crash and the home prices were falling, it was due to Subprime mortgage default, yes, the real estate market was upside down for awhile but it went back up from 2012 and has been steady until the present time.
