Copa: Where are you from?
Mikell: I was born and raised in Bath, Maine, a small town in the Mid-Coast area of Maine. I currently live in Zagreb, Croatia, where my husband and I both work at the US Embassy.
Copa: What schools have you attended?

After college I went on to graduate with my Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law. Copa: When did you gather an interest in pageantry?
Mikell: I had an interest in pageantry since I was a young girl, but was always to shy to try anything like that. Then in college I decided to compete in the Miss America program to try and win scholarships to help me pay for college and law school. I competed for the first time at age 21, but was so scared I almost ran off stage during the swimsuit competition. I didn't compete again for another year and then somehow I was hooked on the glamour and all the wonderful people I was meeting. |

Mikell: I am currently International Ms. USA, I had flown from Croatia to new England and then traveled from Maine to New York! The International Ms. USA Pageant had taken place on Sunday August 25 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in NYC.
