Jeremey Paul
"Celebrity Hairstylist"
By Rodney Wayne Branche
Copa: While you were in High School, did you have any aspirations on styling hair?
Jeremey: Absolutely none, at the time I was not thinking about it at all. This is where the story gets interesting, My mom thought that I would become a makeup artist but I was on the legal track, I wanted to become a Lawyer. After that I wanted to become an investment banker. I had a friend who suggested that I get into the hair styling industry after I had styled his hair because he thought I did a remarkable job on him. I actually laughed in his face and told him that the profession was not for me. At the time I wasn't doing very much with my life so I figured why not look into this thing further to see what it was really all about. I figured I would try it out for about 3 months, if things didn't work out I would suck it up and go back to school. Once I started with an apprenticeship program that was it...I was immediately hooked on the industry.,

Copa: How long did it take to get your certifications and licenses?
Jeremey: It took about a year and 2 months with PR Partners. I went through school and my required hours and received my license through the state with their help. The beautiful thing about the apprenticeship program is that at the time I saved myself 15,000 dollars by working for them full time as opposed to spending that money at a hair styling school.

Copa: Where was the first place you worked?
Jeremey: Since I had done my apprenticeship with 'Partners' that's the first place where I worked, and where I first met Gayela. So I have been with Partners since 2007.

Copa: So how long have you actually know Gayela?
Jeremey: I would say that I have known her for about 5 years now.
Jeremey: I would say that I have known her for about 5 years now.
Copa: Now during that 5 years has Gayela made any drastic changes to her hairstyle?
Jeremey: Yes, we have gone though quite a few interesting haircuts , I started her out with a few 'funky' haircuts that were shorter and very edgy. Gayela was enjoying what many women experience, it's always fantastic when I style their hair! As time went on I could interpret her personal style much better. Gayela now wears my exclusive Platinum hair color...and It's such a proud Platinum, I just love that special color on her. For "We Will Survive Cancer" I had done some interesting things like placing pink strips in her hair, she's always up for something fun...just an amazing client.

Copa: Now we're going to ask you about the "Celebration of Life" 2016, honoring Ginger Vuich. Tell us about that experience of styling Gayela's hair for that memorable day.
Jeremey: That was a great day, I styled Gayela and Ginger's hair. They came in the morning for me start. For Gayela I had performed the most aggressive blow dry. By saying aggressive I mean that it's a combination of all of the the right hair products, things that are not going to weigh her down but will carry her for the entire day. This way when she goes out there would only be a need for a slight tweek. Gayela's hair always responds to my technique. Her cut and color was already refreshed earlier in the week.

Copa: How would you describe Gayela's cut and coloring?
Jeremey: Oh my, that's her special, I always do a classic cut on her, she has finer hair textures. I need a cut for her that will promote a lot of density that will hold a shape and style will accent her style and personality. Gayela always maintains a phenomenal sense of style so she transforms my classic cut into something absolutely special!

Copa: Did her dress selection have anything to do with your cut and style for her that evening?
Jeremey: Absolutely, I wanted to know what type of dress she was wearing. The thing I loved the most was that the dress matched the hair color. I'm not sure if Gayela had this planned when she selected the dress but it worked out in a fantastic way. We also didn't want too much that would take away for the magnificence of the dress. It's important that one must complement the other. There is something special about Gayela that always makes me smile!
