Copa: At what time did you establish "Indubitable Fitness" and why?
Maya: During my time as student on the collegiate level I have seen and heard a lot within the various college campus communities. I personally see young women struggling to get in shape, young women (including myself) having a hard time eating right, and most of all and unfortunately, I hear about sexual assault/harassment and other unwelcomed advances toward women that’s becoming a nationwide issue. I established “Indubitable Fitness” because fortunately, I have always been physically active due to my background in dance and Taekwondo, where I hold a Black belt. It is and has always been my desire to share what I have learned for the betterment of humanity especially women and girls. During this current climate of a global pandemic, I’ve had the good fortune of expanding what I was already doing to reach people all across the world both domestic and internationally. I believe that health, fitness, safety and security of Black Women deserve the highest priority. Therefore ensuring they are fit means the world to me. “Indubitable Fitness” blends dance and self-defense techniques to build strength and confidence. These exercises actually teach women how to protect themselves from physical assault. Living in the college community, I often hear of stories involving women being assaulted (physically/sexually) and some even sold into sex trafficking. After hearing these stories I felt an obligation to use my talents to empower my sisters. “Indubitable Fitness” is built on three prongs:

Copa: What's the easiest way to establish a simple workout schedule?
Maya: Write out your fitness goals. This affords you the opportunity to acknowledge and visualize what you can gain from working out. I am a very visual person, If I can see it, I trust that it will get done.
Anyone looking for a solid regiment with a consistent routine should follow “Indubitable Fitness” on Instagram for simple 15- minute routines that anyone can incorporate into their day. I promise you will be tight and right if you take 15 minutes each day to work out with me.

Copa: Would you please give are readers a few good suggestions to maintain good nutrition in their daily lives?
Maya: Stop dieting!! I know how that sounds but fad diets are not a good way to maintain a nutritious lifestyle. Instead of trying to “diet” for a week or so, go the extra mile and challenge yourself to eat healthier. Make eating healthier your lifestyle. It takes 30 days for a habit to become a routine. Make the routine your commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Give up something unhealthy each month. For example, give up soda and substitute (if you need one) sparkling water with organic fruit.

Copa: What does the future hold for Maya T. Clark and her wonderful world of Fitness & Health?
Maya: Blessings!! Honestly, I have been nothing short of blessed throughout my whole process of curating Indubitable Fitness. With the help of my family, friends and other resources, “Indubitable Fitness” is becoming more than I could’ve ever imagined; for that I am so grateful.
My platform “Girl Power”, is where I speak on sexual assault at HBCU's, self-defense and exercise training, is a movement for young women to feel empowered in their opinions and their bodies. I believe that this will inspire so many young women to beat the odds and always love themselves to the fullest.
