Copa: Hello Gayela, how at what time did you establish Will Survive Cancer?
Gayla: We Will Survive Cancer was established in the DMV in August 2009. 2023 marks WWSC’s 14th year of serving and supporting Cancer patients and their families.

Gayela: The exquisite, exclusive jewelry, one-of-a-kind collection of Katie Parichat Graley, Siam Exclusive Gems & Jewelry will be the focus of Sunday's Fashion Show at Piedmont Country Club, Sunday, November 12th at 4:00 pm. Fashions Designers Sonia Gargarino Atelier, Marian Style and DiDomenico Designs will feature their beautiful collections to complement the jewelry. The event will include a LIVE Auction as well as Silent Auction. The jewelry will be for sale at 25% discount with proceeds benefitting We Will Survive Cancer.

Gayela: The Fashion Show will be MC’d by Rick Bernstein, Founder of VODC Productions. Rick will offer a LIVE Auction which includes exclusive pieces of Jewelry - Rubies, Emeralds, Topaz, Sapphires fashioned in beautiful necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings. It is truly a beautiful selection and collection. Honor models include Gift Hughes (Residential Residential Real Estate Consultant at Twenty-Three Homes) , Cintia Hullen (Founder & CEO Cintia Hullen Model Academy) , Touraine Lynch (WWSC’s 2015 Celebration of Life Honoree), Pasini Coxsey, Rosemary Tran Lauer (Founder & President of Devotion to Children), and Wan Jenkins. The Fashion Gala is hosted by the lovely Katie Parichat Graley and co-Hosted by Gift Hughes.

Gayela: Lol, thank you for recognizing that WWSC attracts beautiful, handsome and bright men and women in the DMV. I think the reason may be because we enjoy organizing unusual and fun fundraising events like Polo, Fashion Shows, sports activities geared toward the interests of our friends which is all in the name of raising money to support cancer patients in need and their families.

Copa: We know the Christmas is just around the corner. What do you have in store for this year that you would like to mention?
Gayela: In its 14th year, We Will Survive Cancer will be gifting over 200 cancer patients and their families. WWSC’s first year, 2009, we gifted 2 patients and their families, each succeeding year, WWSC has added additional families in the DMV, Ohio, Texas and Florida. “Making Spirits Bright,” is WWSC’s signature event since We Will Survive Cancer’s inception. Additionally, during the year, WWSC provides food baskets, supplies, assistance with transportation, utility bills, rent as our funds allow. We are a small all-volunteer (no one is paid) charity with a small budget that does really big things.
