Copa: Where are you from?
Laney: I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico. Guanajuato is located in the mid part of Mexico. Copa: At what time did you gather an interest in Pageantry?
Laney: I became interested in June 2022. This was not something I had in my radar, but was looking to do something for myself and at the same time, looking for ways to support the community. I found that this provided the best of both worlds! Copa: How many competitions were you compete in with USOA with Devaney Shay and Ms. Globe Dr. Tracy?
Laney: I competed last year in the regional USOA with Devaney Shay. I am currently in my second competition, Mrs. World with Dr. Tracy. |

Copa: Please tell our readers how many titles you've won.
Laney: I placed runner up as Ms. Maryland in the USOA competition. I was then invited to move to a national title with Mrs. Globe. I am still new at this!

Copa: How long does it take for you to prepare to compete at these Pageants?
Laney: It takes at least 6 months to prepare for a single pageant. The journey requires you to be focused and to self-manage your agenda with presentations, appearances, exercise, community work and of course your gowns. The social aspect is very important, as through these six months before the pageant we bring attention to the event and to the different causes we support.

Copa: What were your experiences during the Ms. Virginia Pageant?
Laney: I am still in the process of being Ms. Virginia Globe. I am so pleased to see how much more I am able to accomplish for the community with this title. This has made me want to work more for my community and be more mindful about my short and long term goals.

Copa: What was your best part of any competition?
Laney: Getting to know all the pageants sisters; each of these wonderful ladies had beautiful life stories and experiences they wanted to share. Pageants are actually a lot of work, and living this has been a great learning opportunity. Though people may not see know all the hard work that goes behind the scenes, I had to prepare physically and mentally for the competition. Finally, I have made many strong relationships.

Copa: We see that you will had participated in the Randhawa Brands Fashion Show during NYFW. Please tell us a little about this show.
Laney: This was my cherry on the cake! Working with Amna and Randhawa Brands has opened many doors for me. I am very thankful with JeanAnne and Randhawa brands for giving me the opportunity to be part on of their NYFW show. It is a beautiful occasion to be a part of a great brand, in the greatest stage. I believe Randhawa has very stylish designs and as a woman I feel empowered every time I wear her designs. I hope to continue working with Randhawa brands in the future.

Laney: I must admit my Guardian Angel must looking over my shoulder. I started 2023 bright, with many opportunities and more doors that continue to open. At this moment, I am primarily focused to prepare for such an important competition in June as is Mrs. Globe. But I have also been invited in May to be the ambassador for The American Veterans Ball with Ozzy Ramos and few other local events. I will continue to use this and every other platform to promote the basis of my platform, which are selflove and selfcare.
