Copa: Who were your favorite 3 models of all time and WHY?
Tia: I only have two favorite models, and one is myself, because it's me. Hahaha. But seriously, I was born for this. Also, Grace Jones - she exudes fierceness. I would like to meet her someday. Copa: In your personal opinion, has there been a major change in your personal style?
Tia: I think it has been a subtle change in my personal style. I enjoy a variety of styles, but my favorites are high fashion and chic vintage. I kind of mix them together and come up with my signature look or modern 'Tia' flair. Copa: How would you describe the present state of fashion in the DMV?
Tia: In Washington D.C. fashion, you will see a little bit of everything, from Bohemian styles to classic and conservative elements, with practical, comfortable elegance and quality tailoring being prioritized. Washington, D.C., is now the new fashion capital. Thank you, Copa Style Magazine, for continuously empowering and acknowledging those of us making a difference in the fashion world. |
Copa: Where are you from?
Tia: Although I currently reside in Maryland, I am proud to have been born in the vibrant Chocolate City, the nation's Capital, Washington D.C., a beacon of pride and a historical testament to a time of profound Black essence and rich history. I will always love my city! Copa: At what time did you become interested in the art of fashion and style?
Tia: I was born with a passion for fashion and entertainment. As a child, I would always tell people I was going to Hollywood someday. Hahaha. My very first fashion show and photo shoot was truly a dream realized. I was 3 years old and participating in professional photo shoots and runway shows for Sears Roebuck in Washington, D.C., where my grandmother taught charm school and produced large shows, sponsored by Mayor Marion Barry. |
Copa: Please share with our many readers some details of your latest projects.
Tia: I will be participating in the African Cultural Night, and I am organizing a fashion show for a non-profit organization along with my Beautiful & Empowered BAE organization. I am also doing several photo shoots for several editorials.

Copa: Will there be a return of "The Real Models of the DMV?"
Tia: Absolutely, I have to show the world what the modeling world looks like in Washington, D.C. I am just completing some other projects first, then I plan to go back to "The Real Models of DC." I have to show the world what D.C. is like. The official trailer is on this link https://youtu.be/KM1XnX8SukA. More episodes coming soon!!!

Copa: What does the future hold for Tia in this wide, wonderful world of fashion?
Tia: May God graciously illuminate my path, guiding me to nurture my passion for fashion, creativity, and entertainment, and inspiring a brighter tomorrow for myself and others.
