Copa: Where are you from?
Rodney: I am a 4th-generation Washingtonian, going back to my great-grandfather who used to cut hair in the White House and Capitol. 
Copa: Have you always had a talent for dancing?
Rodney: I always had rhythm, which was flushed out by my babysitter at a young age. |

Copa: When did you establish the "Love II Dance II Academy?"
Rodney: The Love II Dance Academy II formally came into existence in the year 2008.

Copa: How often do you hold classes?
Rodney: Our classes are every Tuesday at the Cheverly United Methodist Church, Cheverly, MD, from 7 pm for beginners to 9 pm for intermediate students.

OUR STORY
The Love II Dance II Academy was founded in May 2008 by Rodney K. Wilson, a dance artist specializing in DC Hand Dance which is a form of Swing. He also has a passion for the endless variety of dance genres from around the world. Later on, Rodney connected with other dance enthusiast Barbara Brown and later, the Reverend Antoinette Ennis, Gi Gi Smith and the four embarked on a journey to bring their local communities an eclectic mix of dance, line dance and Bop, as our motto is….”The First Principle of GOD is Love…Let US show you…”

In the decade that followed, the Academy has grown to become one of the Rising Star providers of adult and youth dance programs in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area with our studio/class located in Cheverly, Maryland, along with a satellite location in NE Washington, DC.
Our reach may have grown over the years, but our mission remains the same as it was on day one: Bring the love of GOD through dance diversity to the diversity of the world!
Since the founding of our class in 2008, our goal has been to provide our communities with comprehensive dance styles offered in class, including technique, choreography, performance, and fitness.
OUR CLASSES
The high aptitude of our dance faculty is our strongest asset, and we’re proud to be home to more than 13 talented assistant dance instructors with extensive dance experience. This superb quality of instruction is integral to our mission of providing the best dance education for both recreational and aspiring dancers of all ages.
