Raiza Antonia Gonzalez-Garcia
~ Cultura Fashion Show ~
Copa: Where are you from?
Raiza: Originally from the Dominican Republic, but I grew up in Panama. Copa: Where did you attend school and what was your field of study?
Raiza: I studied audiovisual production at the University of Panama, and later I changed to journalism at the University of El Istmo in Panama. Copa: What did you find so interesting in Telecommunications and Journalism?
Raiza: I love that both fields allow me to be a platform to inform and support my community. Words have power, and if used the right way, they can change the world. Copa: When did you develop a love for fashion?
Raiza: I started modeling at the age of 12. After that, I wanted more, so when I turned 18, I started my own business, supporting other women in learning how to model. I also created my own shows, like Miss City Panamá and Top Model Petite. |
Copa: Tell us about "The Cultural Experience" and the Fashion Show on November 24th, 2024.
Raiza: Global Couture US is more than a fashion show; it's a cultural experience. It combines music, art, and fashion, allowing people to connect with the cultures of different countries without traveling, while learning ancient fashion techniques from indigenous communities.

Copa: Ean Williams will be receiving an award. Who are the other honorees?
Raiza: We have our long-time local fashion icons such as Tom Noll and Jose Alberto Ucles. Supporting locals is important to me because they have been vital to the fashion industry and local businesses. We also have the director of Dominican Republic Fashion Week, who has been supporting students of design for many years.
