Copa: How long have you been interested in modeling?
Nadia: I have always been interested in modeling. But the hustle and bustle that life threw at me, made it a faraway dream that finally came to life recently.

Copa: When did you develop an interest in Pageant competitions and please some of your wonderful experiences with our readers.
Nadia: I have always been curious about pageants, and the idea of having that opportunity to not only have win a lifelong title, but that it gives you a platform to be heard. I initially entered my first USA pageant in 2017 and won the title of Mrs. Bollywood USA because I wanted to speak about health and fitness and that it is never too late to start or pursue a goal. I believe the only obstacle holding you back from your dreams, is you. At that stage I had a dream and did not let anyone or anything hold me back. I have never looked back since then. Pageants allows you to better yourselves, to really believe that you can achieve what you set out to do. You work hard on competing, whereas you take care of yourself physically, but also mentally to be able to get on a stage where all eyes are on you and you perform your best. It is a personal goal that a contestant always, as nerve wrecking as it may be, puts their best foot and face forward. I loved my pageant experience. I was able to learn a lot about being on stage, modeling and above all.. facing my fears.

Copa: How would you describe your personal fashion styles?
Nadia: My style depends on my mood. Sometimes depending on whether or occasion, I may like hats and boots. I love berets! Sometimes casual simple leggings and tunic top or a crop top would suffice, which you can dress up with a scarf of a hat or even a necklace. I like to keep it simple yet elegant. I don’t think you need to be gaudy to stand out. Sometimes, less is more.

Copa: What interests you with fashion in general?
Nadia: I love the diversity that fashion explores. I love the unity and lessons we can learn from fashion. I love that some designers bring culture and fusion into their vision. I love color, I love creativity and artistic work that have a message or a storyline.

Copa: Please explain why fitness and dancing should be important to everyone.
Nadia: I feel that being healthy and fit encourages us to be happy with our selves. Often we are spoiled by social media and the perfect bodies we see. But I do not believe in perfection. However, I think we can create and design the perfect bodies for us. A healthy mind creates a healthy body. It all starts within you. What works for me may not work for everyone. But everyone can find a niche or comfort zone that makes them feel good about themselves. After all, we all seek happiness. And in order for people around you to be happy, you need to be happy with yourself. And that all starts with self love. Taking care of your body and mind. Eating healthy. It is true what they say “you are what you eat”. In the world we live in, we need to be more attentive to what we put into our bodies as fuel. That being said, I have found my happy workout by fusing dance with cardio. Utilizing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to challenge muscle and burn fat. This method of dance fitness, together with weight training and a healthy diet, makes me feel good about myself as I explore the model world. I created BollyTrim® to explore the culture that I define me, being Indian and born and raised in the Caribbean. BollyTrim® fuses the music of the islands with the movement of India.

Copa: What does the future hold for Nadia in her wide world of fitness, Fashion, and Style?
Nadia: I am living my life to the fullest. Each day counts as I strategize and create new levels of accomplishments for myself. I set short term goals that are realistic for me, and I feel amazing once I achieve them. I do not live in regret, as I believe things happen as they should, in due course when the time is right. I seek to better myself that I can leave behind a legacy for my children to be proud of their mother and be inspired to conquer their worlds without fear or discrimination. Being multicultural with diversity in my own family, I long to see myself involved in more cultural diversity and unity within the local fashion world. I feel we can learn so much about each other by expressing ourselves in fashion. Cultures are multi-faceted and have many, many layers that we can peel away slowly and savor what we discover. I am very driven, headstrong, honest determined and hard working. And with these traits, I can only bring to fruition my passion for modeling and style by exploring and researching. By creating and networking… by being observant and learning from others who have so much to share in our fashion world. I seek to embrace, rejoice, and celebrate the colors around me that make up the world of fitness, fashion and my personal style.
