WASHINGTON, D.C. — Against the backdrop of breathtaking rooftop views, flowing white attire, live music, meaningful conversations, and an atmosphere filled with energy and possibility, more than 300 guests gathered at The Perch Lounge atop the Cambria Riverfront Hotel for the African American Spirits & Retail Association's highly anticipated All White Rooftop Celebration.
But this was far more than a social gathering.
But this was far more than a social gathering.
It was a powerful demonstration of what can happen when entrepreneurs, retailers, elected officials, media professionals, community leaders, and consumers unite around a shared vision of economic empowerment.
Hosted by AASRA Founder and Chairman Roger Gore, the evening served as both a celebration and a call to action.
Guests arrived dressed in elegant all-white fashion, but they left inspired by something much greater than the stunning rooftop views and vibrant atmosphere.

They left energized by a movement. From the moment attendees arrived, the energy was undeniable. Music filled the air. Guests danced, mingled, networked, and exchanged ideas. Business owners discussed opportunities. Community leaders strengthened relationships while entrepreneurs shared their stories. Many new partnerships were formed. Many of the guests reconnected with Friends. Strangers became collaborators. The evening embodied the organization's guiding principle:
"We Rise Together."
As the sun began to set over the nation's capital, guests celebrated the growing momentum behind a groundbreaking initiative designed to increase visibility and access for African American-owned brands while strengthening relationships among entrepreneurs, retailers, and consumers.
One of the most talked-about moments of the evening came as attendees learned more about AASRA's historic retail initiative.
The crowd erupted in applause as the significance of the movement became clear.
What began as a vision had become a reality.
Under the leadership of Roger Gore, AASRA has secured commitments from 103 independently owned liquor stores, many of them minority-owned businesses, throughout Prince George's County, Maryland, with implementation beginning in 27 locations.
The initiative creates dedicated shelf space for African American-owned brands, providing increased visibility, awareness, and access to consumers.
The success of the initiative would not be possible without the cooperation and leadership of retail partners committed to expanding opportunity.
Among those recognized for their support are members of the Asian American Retail Association, including Danish Patel of Branch Avenue Liquors, Mayur G. Lakhani of Primo's Liquors, Tushar Vadadoriya of JB Liquors, and numerous other independent store owners who have embraced the vision and partnered with AASRA to help bring it to life.
Their participation demonstrates what can happen when diverse business communities unite around a common purpose and shared economic success.

For many entrepreneurs in attendance, the announcement represented more than shelf space.
* It represented opportunity.
* It represented visibility.
* It represented access.
* It represented ownership.
* It represented the possibility of creating generational wealth through entrepreneurship.
The brands behind the movement throughout the evening, attendees had the opportunity to connect with many of the African American entrepreneurs whose brands are helping reshape the industry.
As the official correspondent for On Stage Plus Television Network, I had the privilege of conducting exclusive interviews with several featured brand owners, including Victor G. Harvey Sr. of Fort Mosé Bourbon, John and Dr. Wanda Joubert of Ikonic Spirits, Tyree Hudson of Smugglers Rum, Deondra Randle of Brotha Whiskey, and Gus Jenkins of Equanimity Tequila.
While each entrepreneur's journey was unique, a common theme emerged throughout the conversations.
Access creates opportunity.
Collaboration accelerates growth.
Ownership builds legacy.
Their stories reflected the passion, perseverance, innovation, and entrepreneurial excellence that continue to fuel the AASRA movement.
Equally important, their willingness to support one another reinforced one of the most powerful takeaways from the evening.
This movement is not built on competition.
It is built on collaboration.
Leadership, Community, and Shared Vision The All-White Rooftop Celebration drew a diverse group of elected officials, business leaders, entrepreneurs, authors, retailers, media professionals, and community advocates who gathered in support of AASRA's mission and vision.
Among the notable guests in attendance were Councilmember Wanika Fisher, former Mayor of Glenarden Dr. Cashenna A. Cross, businessman Tauheed Burke, and numerous leaders committed to supporting entrepreneurship and economic empowerment throughout the region.
The celebration reflected the growing influence of an organization that is doing more than promoting brands. It is creating opportunities. Opening doors. Building bridges. Strengthening communities. And creating pathways for future generations of entrepreneurs.
Support for the initiative has also been championed by Senator Nick Charles, whose advocacy helped bring visibility to the effort and its potential impact throughout Prince George's County and beyond.
Together, these leaders are helping demonstrate what is possible when government, business, entrepreneurs, retailers, and consumers work together toward a common goal.
More Than a Celebration, throughout the evening, one message continued to resonate: Economic empowerment begins with intentional support.
Every purchase represents more than a transaction.
It represents a business.
* A family.
* A dream.
* A job.
* An opportunity.
* A legacy.
As conversations continued, music played, and guests celebrated well into the evening, one thing became abundantly clear.
The All-White Rooftop Celebration was not simply an event.
It was evidence of a movement gaining momentum.
A movement built on access.
A movement built on ownership.
A movement built on collaboration.
A movement built on opportunity.
A movement built on the belief that communities become stronger when entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to succeed.
As AASRA continues expanding its footprint throughout Prince George's County and encourages consumers to support participating retailers and featured brands through initiatives such as the AASRA Buy-Cott campaign, the vision remains clear.
Create opportunities.
Open doors.
Build access.
Empower communities.
And help others rise.
Because when vision meets collaboration and purpose meets action, extraordinary things happen.
And together, we rise.
